Di Depan Para Investor, Pramono Tegaskan Jakarta Terbuka Untuk Investasi

Jakarta Opens Its Doors to Investment

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has reiterated the government’s pledge to make Jakarta a global city welcoming of foreign and domestic investment.

We certainly welcome the opportunity to collaborate with East Ventures

He shared these remarks on Tuesday (11/3) during the High Tea Reception Hosted by East Ventures X Jakarta City Government at Jakarta City Hall's Balairung.

Pramono also invited the attending investors to collaborate with the Jakarta government and invest their capital in the city. In his view, East Ventures is a strategic partner that connects and nurtures startups, talent, and MSME development in Jakarta.

Pramono Anung Upbeat on Jakarta’s Economic Outlook Amid Global Pressures

"As Jakarta is highly open to investment in these areas, we certainly welcome the opportunity to collaborate with East Ventures," he expressed.

He added that Jakarta has become an epicenter for major global events, from concerts by A-list artists to international marathons.

These events have even become engines of Jakarta’s economy, powered by the city’s increasingly integrated and inclusive development.

Investment potential in Jakarta is wide-ranging. Aside from the creative economy, investors can look into transportation, pollution control, and waste management.

He highlighted transportation as a key hurdle, considering the heavy commuter traffic pouring in from Jakarta's satellite towns. To ease congestion caused by this high mobility, the Jakarta provincial government introduced Transjabodetabek to connect the city with neighboring areas.

"This has driven a roughly 15-percent shift toward public transit. Jakarta is now ranked 15th in the world for transportation," he added.

To tackle Jakarta's 9,000 tons of daily trash, the provincial government is setting up waste-to-energy facilities in three locations.

The city also runs modern waste treatment centers like the Rorotan RDF plant and promotes waste sorting from the source.

"We hope that by 2028, Jakarta will be free of waste disposal problems," he stressed.
